this is January?

Sunday afternoon was just too pretty to stay indoors, so we hopped in the car, not knowing where we would end up, and headed toward Mt Rainer.

Where we ended up was about 10 miles from home at a place called Northwest Trek. Its kind of a zoo, but kind of a wildlife refuge. In other words most of the animals are just loose in the park to roam where they want. The people are in cages :) or in the tram that drives you around.

took lots of pictures of the animals and walked A LOT. It was cold but sunny and felt so good to be outside.

Fun enjoyable day...love spending time outside. Having lots of willing subjects letting me take their pictures was fun too

starting out the weekend right

Its Friday afternoon and I had to rush home from work to be here so the guy from the carpet place could come measure. I got home at 1 and he was suppose to be here at 2. I look around my house and its a total disaster. So I spring into action and sweep and vacum the entire house....yes, he was only coming to measure the family room, but the entire house must be vacumed. oh, and the kitchen floor needed to be mopped too. and then all the dust really stood out, cant have that. and there were a few loads of laundry to be done so I got those going.

By the time he got here at 2 I was exhausted. He was here all of 10 minutes.

But at least my house is clean for the weekend.

And then I realized I hadnt stopped for lunch.

Dug around in the cabinet and found this.........

I love Life cereal. I hadnt had it in years!!! picked up this box last weekend and forgot all about it. It was as good as I remembered. Life cereal is a wonderful thing.
This is gonna be a good weekend : )

10 things...one book and a two page layout

That might actually count as thirteen things.

So anyway, Sophia on 2peas posted a blogging challenge. Its been so long since I've done one and this one looked like something I could do so here goes.
The challenge is to list TEN things that you've done RIGHT lately!
They don't have to be life changing things. Something as simple as cooked a great meal. You can ask someone else, if you have to.
And TEN is the number to go for ...

1- Cleaned and reorganized 4 kitchen cabinets
2- Started a knitting project
3- Completed a 2 page layout thats been on my desk for 2 months
4 - Wrote all my debit card receipts in my checkbook and balanced the account
5 - Journaled my food consistanly on http://www.weightwatchers.com/ and stayed within my point range all week
6 - Downloaded a copy of my camera's manual off the internet and put in a pretty binder, complete with tab dividers - I lost my manual months ago and it was driving me nuts!!!
7- Got a new lens last week and have been practicing taking pictures
8 - remembered to take my vitamins *almost* every day this past week
9 - cleaned my scraptable
10- I've blogged three times in the past week!!!

So, about the book
I picked up this book the other day. The title just made me smile.

I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman is written by the lady who wrote Sleepless In Seattle, You've Got Mail and When Harry met Sally.
Im anxious to start reading this but the knitting, scrapping and new lense are delaying me.

aaaaaannnnnnnddddddd (insert drum roll)
I actually finished this layout that I've been staring at for two months. I stared at it and stared at it...I moved the pictures all over the place...I changed the paper 20 times...and finally started over the other night with a clean scrap table and within 10 minutes had this layed out and was cutting and pasting it down. Funny how things all of a sudden just work when they didnt work before. For me that means set it aside and clear the table...then start over.

and....tonight AMERICAN IDOL starts!!!!!!!!!!! WHOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

a ball of yarn... and a good sale

and a Sunday afternoon. What a wonderful thing :)

One of my goals for 2007 was to get back to knitting. Right now Im a little burnt out on Scrapbooking so now is as good a time as any to pick up these needles and practice, practice, practice. Thats all Im doing right now. Knit some, rip it out and start over. Knit some, rip it out and start over. Until Im happy with the way my stitches look, thats what I'll be doing.
and about that sale thing...
OMG if your like me and love a good sale, head over to the DML going out of business sale.
What could be better than 70-80% off scrapbook product????
Just be patient.
Jill's pulling orders as fast as she can and as you can imagine with prices like these, she's swamped!
Hurry and get your order in!!!

You decide...

Last weekend we drove down south to visit Jennifer and see her new digs.

She has a roommate in this new place and her roommate (also her long time best friend) has one of those little pug dogs. His name is Sabre and he is a sweet little dog, BUT...................

the dog is seriously the ugliest dog I have ever seen! LOL!!!!
I kid you not, his eyes go in two different directions.
I couldnt tell if he was looking at me or not!

You decide................

Woogie is Jenny English Bulldog...Sabre is the one looking both left and right at the same time!!
She reminds me of that PUG on the movie Men In Black. The one thats an alien.

I bet you thought...

I was never coming back huh?
Well, I've not been posting much, and Im not pushing myself to do it either...
I kinda feel like there's no sense posting unless you have pictures to share too. And sadly I havent done much picture taking lately. I also havent been scrapbooking much lately either.
I did just finish an entry for Cori's circle Journal.
That was fun.
I love this circle journal thing.
It forces me to think about things that I wouldnt normaly.
Like Cori's. Her's was home. Could be your current home, or it could be the home of your heart.
I had to really stop and think about that one.
Is my current home the home of my heart?
Does it feel like home or do I wish home were somewhere else?
Maybe I'll share my pages later. In the meantime they are posted over on www.downmemorylaneco.com

Im hoping to get back to scrapping and photo taking soon.
Now that christmas is behind us.
Speaking of which, I ordered myself another christmas present this week :)
A new lens for my camera.
I may keep buying myself christmas presents til August. Then its time to buy some Birthday presents.
more later....including pictures.
